Merle Beazer Munns, 89, of Menan passed away at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls, Wednesday July 22, 2015, with her family by her side.
Merle was born on October 26, 1925, in Lorenzo, Idaho to Irving Maine Beazer and Phoebe Scholes Beazer. She was the third child of seven. She attended school in Lorenzo and graduated from Rigby High School in 1943.
On February 4, 1947, she married her prince charming Ralph Dean Munns. They were married for 61 years before his passing in September 2008. They made their home in Menan where Ralph ran Ralph Munns and Sons Construction. Merle helped Ralph with book keeping for the business and also worked for School District 251 in the school lunch program. She made sure she worked at a school one of her kids attended so she could always be there for her children. She enjoyed summers off to spend with her children. Family was her number one priority. After she raised six children, she also helped raise some of her grandchildren. Her home was always open to friends and family that needed a place to stay. Merle always had a big garden where she taught her children gardening and canning. She taught her children to work hard and be independent. She was a no nonsense loving mother and grandmother.
Merle was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved doing temple service and went as often as she could. She loved to travel and wanted to visit all the temples. She served as the nursery leader for years, as canning chairman, and was actively involved in Relief Society. She served a mission for the church at Deseret Industry.
She is survived by a daughter Marnae Munns of Idaho Falls, two sons Terrell Bruce Munns of Menan and Kevin Dean (Jeanette) Munns of Riverside, CA, two sisters Beth Ryan and Beverly Olsen, both of Idaho Falls, two brothers Gaylen (Cheryl) Beazer of Salt Lake City, UT, Albert (Marcia) Beazer of Logan, UT, 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, two daughters Cynthia Hillman and Wendy Tall, one son Rickie Munns, daughter in law Cheri Munns, two brothers Wendell Beazer and Richard Beazer, one grandson Matthew Munns, one granddaughter Melanie Andersen Hillman and one great granddaughter Sasha Boening.
