Merrill "Grant" Rounds

Merrill “Grant” Rounds, age 70, died Sunday December 2, 2007 at his home in Lewisville from Cancer. Grant was born August 29, 1937, at Idaho Falls, a son of Merrill D. and June Lund Rounds. He attended schools in Lewisville and graduated from Rigby High School in 1955. He married Betty Lou Hamon, September 9, 1960 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They later divorced. He worked in Pole Line Construction for: Wasatch Electric, Interstate Electric and Jelco Construction, for Murphy Finance in Pocatello, and owned and operated a service station in Pocatello and Rounds Service Station in Lewisville. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for the church to the California Mission, in a Bishopric in Pocatello, in the primary and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and traveling. Grant is survived by: a daughter Sherri (James) Staggs of Redding, California, a son Tad Alan Rounds of Porterville, California, a sister Corie (Jerry) Poulsen of Twin Falls, a brother Robert D. Rounds of Lewisville, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lewisville 1st Ward chapel with Bishop James Gneiting officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, December 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
