Michael Teancum Alley passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in his home in Teton, Idaho.
Michael was born in Rexburg, Idaho the third child of Matt and Kareena Alley.
Michael was a true Idaho boy who loved hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors. One of his greatest moments was when he got his first buck. He was most at peace in the outdoors. He loved all things animal related from prehistoric times forward and knew random facts about them. He owns many volumes of animal encyclopedias and read them over and over again.
From early on Michael dealt with depression and mental illness. We are so grateful for everyone who was instrumental in helping him through difficult times.
Michael could have an entire room in stitches telling jokes and stories. He saved up money to buy an Xbox that he used to play Fortnite, and Call of the Wild - posting highlights and crazy plays on the YouTube channel he and his cousin created. He would spend hours playing (he was totally “cracked” at it) and talking to his friends. He has many friends and we are grateful for them and the love they have for him.
You can’t talk about Michael without talking about Legos. Michael worked so he could afford Lego and Mtn Dew. His Lego collection was enviable - often owning two sets, one to build and one to keep in original packaging to gain resale value. If he was ever in a pinch for some cash, he would dig out a duplicate set or figure and post it online to sell.
He could be incredibly convincing when asking for favors - going as far as creating a 20 slide PowerPoint presentation explaining why he should be allowed to have social media on his phone. It worked.
Michael was an advocate for others - often speaking up for those who couldn’t do so for themselves. He cared about others deeply.
He is survived by his parents, Matt and Kareena. His 9 siblings; Aidan, Jay, Katie, Evelyn, Lily, Maggie, Jack, Max, and Bonnie. His grandparents; Jeff and Ann Alley of Syracuse, UT and Jimmy and Kayleen Potts of Rexburg, ID. Many aunts and uncles and cousins. As well as his friends.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents and his Uncle Jimmy.
Services will be Monday, October 3rd at 11 a.m. with a short viewing from 9:30-10:45 at the Sugar City LDS stake center 315 E 300 S, Sugar City, ID 83448
