Michael Casper Later, age 74, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home in Rigby, Idaho.
Michael was born October 19, 1950, in Fort Belvoir, Fair Fax County, Virginia, a son to Joel Harlan Later and Elaine Casper Later. He graduated from Rigby High School, and served in the Army and was transferred to the Idaho National Guard Reserves.
Michael worked as a massage therapist and he was also a long-haul truck driver. He lived in California, Texas and Idaho.
Michael was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Sweden. He Loved Ti Chi, and anything in martial arts, he had a passion for collecting stones and geology, and guns.
He is survived by his mother Elaine Later of Rigby, Idaho, his sisters: Debbie Jo (Mike) Larsen of Lancaster, California, Shelia (Mike) Brosie of Austin, Texas, Tamara (Tray) Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa, and brother Kent (Elizabeth) Later of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father Joel Harlan Later.
Memorial services will be held June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 – 10:45 prior to the service. The burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
