Michael Joseph Nolan

Michael Joseph Nolan, 71, passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2010, at Caresource Hospice Center in Salt Lake City, UT, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with multiple myleoma. Michael was born March 27, 1939 in Cortez, Co., to Antonio Nolan and Celia Salas Nolan. His family later moved to the Salt Lake City area. He received a Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Utah in 1970. He married Gloria Trujillo on July 21, 1962. They were later divorced. He married Dominga (Minga) Lazalde on February 28, 1987. He was a loving and generous husband and father and will be forever missed by all who knew him. He loved crossword puzzles, football especially the Chicago Bears, researching family history, watching Jeopardy, listening to Sarah Brightman and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and of course, golf. He worked for the R.T. French Company, EG&G and most recently for the city of Idaho Falls Public Transit System. Survivors include his wife, Dominga of Rigby; daughters Michelle D. Stewart of Idaho Falls, ID; Andrea J. Taylor of Pocatello, ID; Jenifer M. Lewis of Oakley, CA; and Stephanie (Tyson) Felts of Salt Lake City UT; stepchildren Cesar (Maryanne) Lazalde of Rigby, ID; Susy (Ty) Briggs of Rigby, ID; Liz (Franz) Gaiter of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Albert Nolan (Vi Marie) of Phoenix, AZ; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters, Corinna, Toni, and Lea; and brothers, Daniel Nolan and Patrick Nolan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Christ the King Catholic Church on the corner of Woodruff Avenue and 17th Street in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
