Michael Lynn Pierce, 56, of Rigby, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born September 22, 1956 in Galesburg, Illinois to Raymond “Ike” Ivan Pierce and June “Bettie” Elizabeth Bogard. He was raised and attended schools in Illinois and continued his education at ISU. In January of 1980 he married Linda Hart, they later divorced. On May 14, 1984 he married Danita Beal in Elko, Nevada. He enlisted in the US Air Force in Galesburg, Illinois and served in England until he was honorably discharged. He also worked in construction in Illinois and Florida, installed agriculture sprinkler pivots allover Idaho and worked for the City of Mountain Home in the Assessor’s Office. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed his grandkids, music, fishing, hunting, and partying with friends and family. He was a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan and loved spending time with his soul mate, Danita. He is survived by his wife, Danita Pierce, of Rigby, sons, Eric (Heidi) Thompson, of Boise, Richard (Julie) Thompson, of Rigby, William (Nicole) Pierce, of Rapid City, South Dakota, mother, June “Bettie” Patterson, sister, Debi (Michael “Pete”) Collier, both of Galesburg, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, nieces, Katie Collier of Colorado, April Collier of Galesburg, Illinois and an uncle, William “Bill” (Helen) Bogard, of Galesburg, Illinois He was preceded in death by his father, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Disabled American Veterans in memory of Michael.
