Michael Dean Summers, age 59, of Rigby, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at E.I.R.M.C. Michael was born June 2, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son to Dean Lamar and Beth Irene Swensen Summers. He attended schools in Ririe graduating from Ririe High School. After High School he attended Ricks College and Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School in Idaho Falls. He is a member of the LDS Church and served a mission in Ireland. He married Brenda VanLeuven and they were later divorced. On March 31, 1995 he married Olivia Del Rosario in Manila, Philippines. He worked at the I.N.L. as a tool crib attendant. He enjoyed golfing, fishing with his sons and crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife Olivia of Rigby, one daughter Irene Summers of Rigby, three sons: Kenneth D. (Lisa) Summers of Idaho Falls, Terry Lee Summers of Idaho Falls, and Paul Scott (Jennifer) Summers of Idaho Falls, two sisters; Peggy (Alan) Bingham of Casa Grande, Arizona and Janet (David) Evans of Rexburg, two brothers; Carl (Vivian) Summers of Highland, Texas and Joseph (Sharon) Summers of Priest River, Idaho and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby 12 Ward L.D.S. Chapel, on 602 Sundance Street, in Rigby, with Bishop Ron Young officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
