Mildred Roberts Eschler, 89, passed away January 19, 2011 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a lifelong medical condition.
She was born September 3, 1921 in Sugar City, Idaho to Prentiss Roberts and Henrietta Furniss Roberts, the sixth of eleven children. She was raised and attended schools in Sugar City, Idaho. In 1943, she married Carl Eschler. After World War II they moved to San Francisco, California, and in1952 they moved to Daly City, California. In 2000 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, to be closer to family.
Mildred was an inactive member of the LDS Church, but active in the Primary organization when her children were younger. Every year she spent many hours sewing men's pants for the stake welfare project. She loved to sew and do needlework. Her greatest joy was her family and she especially loved the little children.
She is survived by daughters Kathleen LaCombe (Phillip) of Salt Lake City; Sandra Lee Nazzaro (Joe) of Dallas, Texas; a son Frederick Carl Eschler (Laura) of Coquille, Oregon, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grand-children, who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; all of her siblings and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Eschler.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
