Miriam Louise Brighton, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012, at her home. She was born December 4, 1929 in Shelley, Idaho to Allan O Johnson and Rula Beck Johnson. She was raised and attended schools in Blackfoot and Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. She attended her nursing school at Idaho Falls LDS Hospital. On September 6, 1949, she married H. Max Brighton in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Miriam was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served a mission with her husband H. Max Brighton in the Ohio Akron Mission from August 1988 to February 1990. She enjoyed sewing for friends and family, and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Louise (Ronald) Mecham, of Smithfield, Utah, Marsha Lynn Jones, of Idaho Falls, Maxine Kaye (Scott) Burnett, of Pleasantview, Utah, daughter-in-law, Becky Brighton, of Sugar City, sons, Stanton Allan (Kay) Brighton, of Idaho Falls, Rulon Scott (Trina) Brighton, of Blackfoot, Joel Earl (Julie) Brighton, of Idaho Falls, Stepsons, William Stuart (Caryl) Ward, of Boise, Dennis Milton (Judy) Ward, of Sandy, Utah, sister, Edythe Rula (Lloyd) Johnson, of Meridian, brother, Carl Aldon Johnson, of Meridian. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Steven Max Brighton, grandson, Mieah Mecham, granddaughter, Shavon Mecham Boir, and a son-in-law, Gary Jones. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the Coltman 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Dennis Love, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
