Monte D Call

Monte D. Call age 74, of Rigby, died Monday August 15, 2011, at his home. Monte was born October 11, 1936, in Blackfoot, Idaho a son of Sydney Call and Vera Swensen Call. Monte was raised and attended school and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He married Bonnie Landon on November 14, 1958. They were later divorced. He married Cherlyn Kay Leavitt July 18, 1975 in Elko, Nevada. Monte worked as a core driller in California for 7 years, Cushman drilling, and H K Construction as a truck driver until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, cutting firewood, camping, bowling, playing pool, and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Cherlyn Call of Rigby, daughters, Tamie S. Hicks of Blackfoot, Lori Ann Call of Newport, Oregon, Marcie K. (Kevin) Hammond of Boise, Rachelle L. (Dan) Perry of Blackfoot, sons, Ferrin G. Olsen of Hayden Lake, Eddie S. (Kellie) Olsen of Idaho Falls, sister Elna Marlow of Idaho Falls, brother Ford (Carol) Call of Wapello, Idaho, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Monte was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and prior to the service on Friday morning from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
