Nada Moore Hale

September 22, 1914 — January 17, 2008

Nada Moore Hale age 93 of Rigby, Idaho passed away on January 17, 2008 of a massive stroke. She was born the 22 of September 1914 in Provo, Utah to James Eden Moore and Ethel Priscilla Hawkes. After the death of her mother during the influenza epidemic of 1919 she intermittently lived with her grandmother Hawkes and her father. When she was 10 years of age she went to make her home with on of her father’s sister, May Belle Moore and her husband James Edward Summers. She attended schools in Provo, and Delta, Utah and Grand Junction, Colorado, graduating from Grand Junction High School. In December of 1933 she went to Pocatello and there she met Merlin Alma Hale and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 28, 1934. They made their home in Pocatello at first, and then moved to Idaho Falls where Merlin worked for Burgraff and Company in the construction business. Merlin then got a job in Pocatello working for Gem State Mutual Insurance so they moved back to Pocatello where they raised their children. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities among them are: all positions in the Primary and Young Women’s Mutual Improvement Association. She was a Relief Society President for many years and served also in the Young Women’s MIA on a Stake level for many years. She enjoyed family history and did extraction work in German. She and Merlin were Temple Officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple for many years. They served a mission for the LDS Church in Florida and Arizona. Church service was always an important blessing in their lives. She enjoyed crocheting and made many baby blankets, and dish clothes in her declining years when she could no longer see and gave them away to family and friends. She dearly loved her family and was always alert and interested in what was going on with them and in the world affairs. She is survived by her children: Ralph Merlin (Lois) Hale of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lynette (Dennis) Muir of Rexburg, Rulene (Dean) Dallimore of Rigby, Don (Vicky) Hale of Pocatello, a Daughter-in-law, Jonna (Nyal) Angus of Salt Lake City, UT, 18 Grandchildren, and 31 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Merlin Alma Hale, one son; Maylen Vloyd Bennett, two Grandsons; Merlin Eugene Dallimore, Michael Blake Hale, and one Great Granddaughter, Kelsi Muir. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2008 at the LaBelle 1st Ward LDS Church, with Bishop Rod Furniss, officiating. The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, both at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
