Ned S Sauer, 75, of Rigby, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home.
He was born November 11, 1938, in Idaho Falls to John Joseph Sauer and Nellie K Staker Sauer. He was raised and attended schools in the Grant and Lewisville areas; he graduated from Rigby High School. Ned continued his education at the University of Idaho in Moscow. He served in the US Army National Guard. On July 2, 1960, he married Pam Moore in Idaho Falls. They were blessed with 1 son and 2 daughters.
Ned worked for H & K Construction and Idaho State Highway Department. He owned Monument Holding Construction for several years and worked in Alaska for a paving construction company. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment, but fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends was his first love.
Ned was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Sauer of Rigby, son, Brett (Wendee) Sauer, of West Jordan, UT daughters, Jo Nell (Jeff Krebs) Sauer of Portland, OR, Holly (Gary) Smith, of Cheyenne, WY, sister, Audra (Dick) Koplin, of Rigby, 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and let’s not forget his loyal friend, Rambo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Lou Decker, and a brother, K. Sauer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Memorial contributions may be made to Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah.
