Nellie Poole Otteson, age 85, resident of Ammon, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, TX.
Nellie was born September 8, 1928, in Menan to Joseph William Poole and Inez Mary Thomas Poole. She was raised in Menan and graduated from Midway High School. On August 5, 1950, she married Conner (Bill) Piper Otteson in Menan and later they were sealed at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Nellie and Bill lived in Idaho, Hawaii, Indiana and Michigan. She worked as an accountant in the automotive industry in Michigan.
Nellie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed watching basketball, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with family.
She is survived by son Steven (Deborah) Otteson of Texas, daughter Beverly (Alvin) Schrage of California, grandchildren, Clara Otteson of Virginia, Thomas (Leila) Otteson and their daughter Kathryn of Colorado, Joseph (Emma) Schrage, Jonathan (Rachel) Schrage and David Schrage all of California, sister Evelyn (Doug) Miller of Montana, brothers Clyde (Lois) Poole of Idaho and Wally (Margaret) Poole of Montana, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister and her beloved husband, Conner (Bill) P. Otteson.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Monday, January 6, 2013, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
