Nellie Ida Hall Welker, 97, of Rigby, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Nellie was born June 28, 1909 at Annis, Idaho a daughter to Cumer Green Hall and Zola Christopherson Hall. She attended Cache and Oasis Elementary Schools in Teton Basin and was honored as the school’s best speller while attending. She lived in Annis, Driggs and Rigby, Idaho and Glen (Rheitley) Montana. She worked for neighbors and relatives in many domestic capacities and for Roger’s Brother’s Seed House in Rigby, prior to her marriage. She married Clinton Welker, June 28, 1928 at Driggs, Idaho. They moved to Bear Lake, Idaho to the family homestead and then to the Rigby and Annis area. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a visiting teacher and supervisor for 49 years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, embroidery, sewing, reading, flower gardening and fishing.
She is survived by two daughters: Betty L. (Warren) Thompson of Idaho Falls, and Zola (Richard) Lindbloom of Rigby, three sons: Robert C. (Thelma) Welker of Shelley, Orrin L. (Eula) Welker of Rigby, and Willis H. (Susan) Welker of Idaho Falls, one half sister Addie (Earl) Blodget of Ogden, Utah, 27 grandchildren, 101 Great Grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step mother, her husband, a daughter Dolores, a sister Carrie, brothers Ervin and Leslie, half brother Lawrence, one granddaughter, two grandsons, one great grandson and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Menan LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends at the Menan LDS Stake Center on Friday, October 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery
