Nellie Gray Williams

Nellie Gray Williams, 82, of Rigby, died Sunday January 18, 2004 at the Idaho Falls Care Center in Idaho Falls. Nellie was born March 27, 1921 at Tarboro, North Carolina a daughter of Robert James Carter and Bessie Edmondson Carter. She attended Schools in Tarboro. She married Marvelin Bass in Tarboro. They were later divorced. She then met and married David Williams in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She worked as a Security Guard for the Women’s Correctional Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed Playing Bingo, Fishing and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: a daughter Maxine (Juan) Tracy of Rigby, a son Robert Jerry Bass of Wyoming, a sister Elizabeth (Tom) Hoard of Tarboro, North Carolina, a brother Billy Carter of Ronoak Rapids, North Carolina, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 granddaughter. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street in Rigby. Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Malta Cemetery, Malta, Idaho.
