Nick Mickelsen, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away in Idaho Falls, Monday, August 22, 2016.
Nick was born July 8, 1948 in Teton Basin, Idaho a son to Reed and LeVaun Coombs Mickelsen. He grew up in the Teton Basin where he was surrounded by a loving family, cousins and community. His family later moved to Hamer, Idaho the summer before his freshman year. He attended West Jefferson High School and was involved in FFA, football, fishing, hunting, haying and ranching. Nick married Kathy Orme, November 26, 1966. They have 5 children. Nick was an active, dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served diligently in all aspects of the ward he attended.
Nick was hard working, selfless, kind, humble, grateful, and loving dedicated father. He knew and loved the Savior. His faith and testimony carries on in many lives.
He is survived by his children: Scott Mickelsen (Mitzi) of Glendive, Montana, Shane Mickelsen (Amy) of Dubois, Idaho, Cheri Engberson (Ron) of Anchorage, Alaska, Dari Edwards (Alan) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kandi Andersen (Travis) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. His Mother LeVaun Mickelsen of Idaho Falls. A sister Patty Gasser (Loyd) of Nyssa, Oregon and 24 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Reed Mickelsen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Idaho Falls 14th Ward, 651 Gladstone Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 25th at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery.
