Nina Mildred Miles Sucher, 87 of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls.
She was born August 20, 1923, in Rigby, to Paul Snow Miles and Evelyn Prophet Miles. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. On March 6, 1942, she married Donald Davis Sucher in Preston, Idaho; their marriage was solemnized July 12, 2004, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She and Don lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and then moved to Rigby, Idaho where they made their home.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in all of the women’s axillaries. Nina was an excellent seamstress and gardener; she enjoyed quilting and crocheting, arts and crafts and sold them all over Eastern Idaho. She was an artist and enjoyed painting. She loved having her family around her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly loved and missed by all who know her.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Taylor, of Idaho Falls, Paula (Dell) Jensen, of Ririe, a son, Donald Wayne (Patty) Sucher, of Aberdeen, Washington, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband 2 brothers and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Rigby 14th, Ward LDS Chapel, 602 Sundance Drive, Rigby, with Bishop David Grant conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
