Nita Jean Guymon, age 49, of Rigby, died Friday, November 29, 2002, at the Eastern Idaho
Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Nita was born February 1, 1953, at Vallejo, California, a daughter to Thurman Bardwell and
Laveta Joyce Lanious Bardwell. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and served a mission for the church to Paris France. She married Ronald H. Guymon May
15, 1976, in the Mesa, Arizona L.D.S. Temple. She attended the Arizona State University at
Tempe for 3 years studying accounting. In 1989 she attended the Columbia Basin College in
Pasco, Washington where she studied Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as a
Registered Nurse in Richland, and Pasco, Washington. In 1990 they moved to Gaithersburg,
Maryland and worked in Frederick, Maryland in the Oncology Department and in Washington
D.C. at the Washington Hospital Center. In 1992 she continued her education attending the
University of Phoenix in Albuquerque, New Mexico and earning the Bachelor Degree in
Nursing. She worked in the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center in the I.C.U.. In 1995 they
moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and then in 2000 moved to Rigby, Idaho. Nursing was her life,
giving care to whomever needed her help, was a really good cook and a great mom who had a
tremendous desire to learn, always putting others before herself.
Survivors include: Her husband Ronald H. Guymon of Rigby; 1 daughter, Lisa Guymon of
Provo, Utah; 2 sons James (Amber) Guymon of Lehi, Utah, David (Sarah) Guymon of Del City,
Oklahoma; her mother Laveta Bardwell of Huachuca City, Arizona; 2 sisters Patricia (Robert)
Bergamini of Sandy, Oregon, Linda Carter of Presqui Isle, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the LaBelle 3rd Ward
LDS Chapel (4223 East 528 North, Rigby, Idaho) with Bishop Bruce Karren officiating. The
family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will
be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in
Rigby.
