Nona B. Wilson

Nona B. Wilson, age 89, of Idaho Falls died Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Nona was born February 20, 1914 in Inkom, Idaho the daughter of Myron DeWitt Baker and Olive Fisher Baker. She was raised and attended school in Inkom, Idaho and Garfield, Idaho. She worked for the Seed House, the cold storage and managed the ice cream shop in Rigby. She also worked for Broulim’s, J.C. Penny Co. and managed the Rigby Hotel for many years. Nona married Ace Colman on November 9, 1931, they later divorced. She married H.R. “Whitie” Wilson in 1955 in Menan, Idaho. He preceded her in death. Nona was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission for the church to North Carolina. Nona served in the Grant Ward Library, and in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. Nona enjoyed sewing and handiwork. Survivors include three daughters, Olean Gray of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marie Hargis of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Vicki (Ivan) Williams of Pocatello, Idaho, Two sisters, Lois Andrus of Roseville, California, June Willis of Snohomish, Washington and one sister-in-law Beth Baker of Rigby, Idaho. 15 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Nona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grant L.D.S. Church with Bishop Alan Batt officiating. The family will meet with friends on Monday, prior to the services at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow the services at the Grant Central Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
