Norman Jay Marchant, 71, of Rigby, Idaho passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Norman was born May 10, 1953 in Rigby, Idaho in the Rigby Maternity Home, the son of Ira Jay Marchant and LaRue Beck Marchant. He attended schools in Rigby, Idaho and was a graduate of Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and later attended and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Science and Technology.

Norman had worked at the Idaho National Laboratories for the Naval Facility, at the Idaho National Technology and Engineering Center, and for Curtis Wright. He was a member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Had earned his Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, and while at BYU was a member of the Rifle Team. He enjoyed, shooting, computers, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, car shows, golfing, driving and road trips.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main Street, Rigby, ID). The family will meet with friends prior to the service on Thursday from 12:00 to 12:45 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
