Ona LuDean Thompson, age 82, of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. Ona was born March 28, 1932, in Madison County, Idaho, a daughter to Raymond Grover and Katie Browning Grover. She attended schools in Archer and Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. She married James Howard Thompson in Idaho Falls, Idaho August 3, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple April 17, 1987. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a teacher in the Primary and Sunday School. She enjoyed crafts, camping, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She loved to hear her husband play in the Old Time Fiddlers. Her family was the most important thing to her. Having her family around her was one of her greatest pleasures. She is survived by two daughters; Rhonda (Holger) Nickel of Idaho Falls and Mona (Lonny) Pinnock of Rigby, three sons; James Robert (Julie) Thompson of Rexburg, Roger (Sheryl) Thompson of Rigby and Tom (Sunne) Thompson of Shelley, 29 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, five brothers and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 11:00 to 12:15 P.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
