Ora Green

Ora Hymas Green, 96, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Rexburg, died at her home, Friday, November 5, 2010. She was born September 1, 1914, in Rigby to Wilford Watkins Hymas and Ethel May Call Hymas. She was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. She continued her education at Idaho State University and received her Nursing Degree. On March 4, 1940, she married Charles Sargent Green Jr. in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Rexburg, Charles was the first Chiropractor in the valley and Ora worked at the Madison Memorial Hospital. She later started the Rexburg Nursing Home and owned and operated it from 1957 – 1974 where she cared for hundreds and hundreds of people throughout her life. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed singing in the ward choir throughout her life. Ora will be missed here but has gone home to be with her husband and siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Ann (Bob) Wilkinson, of Idaho Falls, Carol Shirley (Dennis) Nizzi, of Seattle, Washington, sons, Richard (Janice) Green, of Pocatello, Dana (Lynette) Green, of Rigby, a sister, Lucille Isham, of Pocatello, and a brother, Stan (Kary) Hymas of Rigby, 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9th, at the West Main Ward LDS Chapel, 700 Park Street in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel 101 West Main Street and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Sugar City Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
