Oscar Kenwood "Ken" Jones

Oscar “Ken” Jones, age 74, of Rigby, died at his home Sunday, December 17, 2006 from an apparent heart attack. Ken was born January 29, 1932 at Rigby a son of Clemence Lanor “Berry” Jones and Stella Pearl Lemmon Jones. He attended schools in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School. He then attended Ricks College and the University of Idaho. He served with the National Guard in Korea for two years as a Chief Cook and earning the rank of Staff Sgt. He married Barbara Tibbitts July 29, 1955 in Rigby. He was a member of the LDS church. He owned Rigby Title and Development Company for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, his grandchildren, working on his computer and golf and was a charter member of Jefferson Hills Golf Course. He is survived by his wife Barbara of Rigby, one daughter JaNae Shanahan of Rigby, one brother Richard LaVar Jones of Kennewick, Washington, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Teresa “Terri” Kae Jones, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby Stake Center with Bishop Brad Anderson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (710 2nd Ave, Suite 900, Seattle, WA 98104), and the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 5386 Boise, Idaho 83705).
