Owen Kent Coles, age 80, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away on September 3rd, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with Huntington's disease.

Born on January 20th, 1944, in Rigby, Kent was the second of three boys born to Vernal and Gilda Jane Bates of Milo, Idaho. He grew up in Rigby and developed a love for theater during his school years. After graduating from Rigby High School, Kent worked in Las Vegas with his brother Dennis before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southwest British Mission.

While on his mission, Kent met and baptized a beautiful young woman named Julia. They were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. This began a lifelong journey together filled with love and faith. Kent spent most of his career as a Produce Manager, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.

Kent was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully throughout his life in all he did. He recently celebrated 80 years of life, a milestone that was a testament to his unwavering spirit and the love of his family and friends.

His family will be celebrating his life in an intimate gathering, where they will remember and honor a man who brought joy, love, and laughter to all who knew him.
