Owen Ward Landon, age 76, of Rigby, died at his home Sunday, October 3, 2004. Owen was born July 10, 1928, at Osgood, Idaho, a son of Orson Landon and Louie Verl Ward Landon. He married Lois Mae Vadnais, June 17, 1947 in Dillon, Montana. Throughout his life he worked as a sheepherder in the Hamer, Idaho area, with Ready to Pour Concrete in Idaho Falls, as a crane operator with Teton Crane in Boise, for H and K Construction in Idaho Falls and for Idaho Asphalt in Idaho Falls. He was a member of the LDS Church and a member of Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing pool. He is survived by 3 daughters: Louise Campbell of Nampa, Idaho, Lynn (Kent) Fry of Wilder, Idaho and Shirlene (Andy) Schlupe of Hermiston, Oregon; 7 sons: Neal (Tammy) Landon of Idaho Falls, Kent (Jean) Landon of Grant, Richard (Sandy) Landon of Grant, Gene (Daronna) Landon of Boise, Jerry (Melba) Landon of Homedale, Idaho, Ron (Nancy) Landon of Boise and Brent (Lisa) Landon of Boise; 2 sisters: Dorothy Rorhman of Spokane, Washington, Shirley Peterson of Shelley; 4 brothers: Leo (Cosette) Landon, Ray (Verlene) Landon, Dan (Leah) Landon and Van (Bobbi) Landon; 33 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, four sisters: Thelma, Hazel, Vondis and Amelia; and three Brothers Max, Ivan and Pete. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 12:00 Noon in the Grant LDS Church, 3431 East 100 North, Grant, Idaho, with Bishop Alan Batt officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday October 11, 2004 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, in Rigby from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
