Amy Dean “Pat” Raymond, 87, of Menan, passed away Friday, April 05, 2013 at Great Oaks Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
She was born March 17, 1926, in Dillon, Montana to Earl D. Harkness and Marcia Barzee Harkness. She was raised and attended schools in Big Sheep Creek Basin, Montana and Roberts. On May 12, 1945, she married Joseph Milton “Sock” Raymond in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She and her husband lived and farmed in the Menan area throughout their married lives.
Pat is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for many years in the primary and MIA programs. She and her husband served a mission to Raleigh, North Carolina 1991 to 1992. She loved music and sang with The Singing Mothers and the Menan 1stWard Sextet. She also sang with her ward and stake choirs. Everyone was always welcome in her home; she enjoyed feeding visitors and only asked for a hug in return. Pat and Sock also enjoyed traveling with close friends whenever circumstances permitted.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette (David) Smart, of Mesa, Arizona, daughter-in-law Joylene Raymond, of Menan, sons, Jay (Kay) Raymond, of Rigby, Noel (LaDee) Raymond, of Buenos Aries, Argentina, Van (Diane) Raymond, of Roberts, Dee (Barbara) Raymond, of Lewisville, Ken (Jayna) Raymond, of Vancouver, Washington, sister, Dorothy Messick, of Roberts, brothers, Robert (Dixie) Harkness, of Roberts, Gayle (Shirley) Harkness, of Ammon, Myles Harkness, of Roberts, 32 Grandchildren, and 75 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Don Raymond and a brother, Wayne Harkness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Menan 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 3547 E. Menan Lorenzo Hwy. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
