Patricia Ann Campbell, 72, of Rigby died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her home.
Patricia was born in Pocatello, Idaho on September 27, 1941. She is the second daughter of John and Wilma Keaton and was raised in Arco, Idaho.
Patricia loved to quilt and design quilting patterns. She belonged to the Rigby Quilt Guild and also belonged to the Idaho Writer’s League where she was the Idaho Falls Poet of the Year in 1984. She published a book of poetry in 1975 and two more in 1984. Pat worked for house of White Birches writing a column called “Pat’s Perspective”. About that time she also took on the job of writing a short informational/humorous weekly column for the local newspaper. In 1985, Pat stared her own home-based quilt-pattern business, Campbell Creations. In 1996 Pat published the book Ships of the World: Foundation-Pieced Sailing Ships. House of White Birches published her last quilting book.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Campbell, her daughter Nancy Kay Britton (G.L.) of Nine Mile Falls, Washington, her son Evan John Campbell (Debbie of Cheyenne, WY, grand-daughter, Tasha (James) Venable of Stites, Idaho, and her sister Nancy (Dick) Nogues of Challis, ID.
She was preceded in death by one brother, and her parents and a grandson Bret Britton.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby with Bishop Adam Hall conducting. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Easy Breathers Pulmonary Rehab at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls (EIRMC).
