Patricia Joan Crossley

August 28, 1932 — September 1, 2018

Patricia Joan Crossley was born August 28, 1932 to Clarence Bert and Marjorie Alberta Wilmot (Morris) in Boise Idaho. She was the youngest of three daughters. She was born premature at 3 pounds and was a miracle from the start. Her dream was to become a Baptist Missionary, following in the footsteps of her cousin Gordon Seagrave who served in Berma. At the age of 16, with chronic kidney issues, she was told she would never be able to serve in that missionary capacity, and also told by her doctor that she would never bear children. With the dream of being a missionary gone, she would go on to prove the doctor wrong. In 1951 she met Douglas Wallace Crossley on a double date, but he was with the other girl. Sparks began between the two and they were married June 6, 1952. They made their home in Boise. She became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint on December 3, 1955. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 28, 1957. She served as Relief Society President and Primary President. She served in the Young Women organization as Camp Director along with many other callings throughout her life. She loved her various callings, but especially her callings to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Together Doug and Pat purchased a farm in Middleton where they lived and raised their four children. They worked together on the farm raising hay, grain, and cattle. In 1990 they served an 18 month mission in Wilkes Barre, PA. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. After the death of her beloved Doug, she moved to Ririe with her daughter where she lived and enjoyed the last six years of her life.
Her love for the Savior Jesus Christ began as a young girl and was a compass and great comfort throughout her life. On Saturday September 1, 2018 she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Douglas Wallace Crossley, a son Michael Lynn, her parents Clarence and Marjorie Wilmot, her sisters Evelyn Jones and Aline Scaggs, and granddaughter Jennifer Jones.
She is survived by her children Michael Crossley (Kathy), David Crossley (Jan), Daniel Crossley (Sherie) and LaRee Jones (Harold). 19 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
