Paul Warren Jeppson, age 81, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at his home in Rigby. Paul was born October 4, 1921, at Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Royal Moroni Jeppson and Blanche Gertrude Erdmann Jeppson. He was raised in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He attended Utah State University, receiving a Bachelors degree in Zoology. Paul served in the Marine Corps for four years during World War II. Paul married Rhoda May Goates on April 13, 1946 in the St. George, Utah Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Ward Clerk, Scouting merit badge counselor, assisted at Girls Camp, and was a 4-H leader. Paul worked for 32 years for the Idaho Fish and Game and was a strong wildlife advocate. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper. Of all the things in life, he loved his family the most.
Survivors include two sons, Jerald P. Jeppson of Crowheart, Wyoming, Phil (Belynda) Jeppson of Meridian, Idaho, two daughters Amy J. Harrington of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Janis J. Bischoff of Sandy, Utah, Sisters; J. Loraine Burrup of Pocatello, Idaho, Dorothy B (Kenn) Goodrich of Post Falls, Idaho, one brother, Joseph H. (Helen) Jeppson of Pocatello, Idaho, sister–in-law, Louise Jeppson of Shelley, Idaho. 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Royal and Blanche, his wife Rhoda, and six brothers and sisters; A. Fae Nielsen, Royal E Jeppson, Naomi A. Stemm, John F. Jeppson, Theodore v. Jeppson, and Janice G. Jeppson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel with Bishop Kent Durst officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday night from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Private family burial will follow the services at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
