Pauline Hall Parshall, 95, passed away at home on June 23, 2014.
Pauline was born in Bakersfield, CA, on May 16, 1919, the fourth daughter of five to Frank(ie) Reed Hall and Victor Carl Hall. She was raised in Bakersfield and except for a few short years inOxnard, CA, lived there until she was 85 years old, when she moved to Idaho Falls, ID in 2004.
Pauline met her husband, Marvin Palmer Parshall, when they were in high school, started dating immediately after graduation and married in Las Vegas two years later on November 11, 1939 when they were both 20 years old.
Pauline and Marvin loved life. They had many friends, loved to vacation at the beach or mountains, kept busy when their children were young by building a mountain cabin with some of Pauline's sisters and families. Later they moved to Oxnard for a time and enjoyed the several boats they bought over the years. In later years they were members of the Roving Elks camper group out of Bakersfield and went on many trips with their camping friends.
Pauline was basically a shy person in her youth but came out of her shell as she grew up and older. She had a funny, witty sense of humor. She loved music, singing, took piano lessons as an adult and played her beloved organ often. She loved crocheting, reading, gardening and crossword puzzles, although her greatest joy was her family. At the tender age of 80, she discovered and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which she loved.
Her children, family and everyone who knew her loved her as one of the sweetest, kindest people on earth. She always put others first and cared so much that her family was happy.
Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin, parents, Victor and Frankie Hall, her sisters, Thelma, Helen, Merle, and her little sister, Marilyn, (who died just 12 days before her), and her grandson, Mark Alexander Kinghorn.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Parshall Kinghorn of Idaho Falls, ID, and Connie Parshall Smith and son-in-law, Gary Smith of Wasilla, AK; grandchildren Andrea Jeppesen, Michael Kinghorn of IF, Joshua (Heather) of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Jeff (Jackie) Smith of Wasilla AK, Stephanie Smith, Jamie Smith, and Matthew Smith (Jessica) all of Anchorage, AK; step grandchildren Craig Kinghorn, Karie Burkhart and Kim LePrey; 16 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; nephew, Brad (Karen) Brown of CA, as well as many extended and loved family members.
The family expresses their appreciation to Hands of Hope Hospice for their tender, gentle care.
