Pershing Johnson Hill, 85, of Idaho Falls, died of heart failure at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Facility, Saturday, September 18, 2004.
Pershing was born December 5, 1918 at Rigby, a son of George E. Hill and Maude Sarah Johnson Hill. He graduated from Rigby High School. He served during WWII on the USS Nevada and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. While he was working at Big Springs Lodge he met Lola Faye Bybee Blackburn and while serving in the military they married May 7, 1942 at Bremerton, Washington. He became an accountant and worked for Conrad and Bischoff retiring in 1987.

He is survived by his wife Faye Blackburn Hill of Idaho Falls, 4 sons: Pershing Johnson JR. (Mimi) Hill of Anchorage, Alaska, Glade Blackburn (Marjie) Hill of Aurora, Colorado, Dr. K. Burnel (Laurie) Schaetzel-Hill of Olympia, Washington, Casey Blackburn (Donna) Hill of Idaho Falls. 1 brother: Kenneth Hill of Arizona and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street, Rigby). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Rites will be performed by the Jefferson Veterans Team.
