Peter J “PETE” Madsen 65 of Rigby Idaho passed away Friday April 10, 2009 in Idaho falls Idaho at good Samaritan nursing home from complications of a stroke in 2001. Pete was born July 31, 1943 in Rigby Idaho the youngest son of loyal Mathew and Eileen Ellsworth Madsen. Pete grew up in Rigby Idaho where he spent most of his life. Pete married Marva Youngstrom on September 27, 1963 in Menan Idaho and lived in Rigby Idaho where they made their home and had three children Shonna, David and Jimmy. They were later divorced, Pete later married Darlene Charles and later divorced. Pete joined the National Guard and served state side during the Vietnam War. Later Pete joined the Rigby police department where he served for several years at a job that he loved, later Pete worked construction for H & K and other construction company’s eventually working in California, Utah, Nevada and Colorado. Pete had a great sense of humor and always a snappy come back, and will be greatly missed. Pete is survived by his daughter Shonna (Russ) Clousing and son Jimmy Madsen both of Rigby, brother’s Bob Madsen of Rigby, and Kenneth Madsen of Idaho falls and one sister Margaret Hodges of Teton 6 grand children and 7 great grandchildren. Pete is preceded in death by his son David, parents and brothers and sister. Please send donations in lieu of flowers to good Samaritan in Idaho falls. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, the family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday evening and for one hour prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
