Phyllis Lavon Smith, 84, of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her home. She was born March 10, 1930 in Annis, Idaho to John Stacey and Lavon Boulter Stacey. She was raised in Annis and Lyman and attended school in Lyman and Rigby. On December 22, 1947 she married Willard Smith in Annis, Idaho; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 26, 1966. They were blessed with 4 children. Phyllis worked at Idaho Fresh Pak, and as a Bookkeeper for Smith Electric. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary as a teacher and as Primary President. She enjoyed dancing, camping, quilting, crocheting, and playing pool. She loved Sudoku puzzles and computer games as well as traveling to Montana and South Dakota for musical festivals. She was survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Elliott, of Rigby, Gaye Lynne Smith of Idaho Falls, sons; Boyd Smith, of Idaho Falls, Stacey (Cami) Smith, of Idaho Falls, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, her parents, 1 sister, 2 brothers and a grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
