Phyllis Ann Stringham

Phyllis Ann Stringham, 79, peacefully passed away on September 18, 2023.

She was born on September 22, 1943 in Kentucky to Fred Alan Woods and Bonnie Virginia Morrison Woods. Phyllis grew up and graduated from Greenup County Junior High.

During her life, Phyllis lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, California, Virginia and Idaho. She was a member of New Geneva, Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Phyllis worked for the U.S. Navy in laundry and dry cleaning. She enjoyed crafting, jogging, dancing, camping, listening to Elvis, reading, traveling, and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Zahn and son, Michael Smith, sister Nancy Chaffins, granddaughter Sarah Donohue and parents Fred and Bonnie Woods and step-father Mike Arndt.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, James Stringham; daughters Kathryne (Rick) Moody of Mesa AZ, Edith Marie (Brian) Buchmann of Rigby ID; sons Wayne Woods of IA, Thomas (Terresa) Stoklosa of San Diego CA, Charles (Jeanine) Smith of OK, and Richard Smith of Idaho Falls ID; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main St Rigby ID 83442). A viewing will be held the night before from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. as well as Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral at Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho.
