Rafael Galvan Solorio

Rafael Galvan Solorio, 80, of Rigby died at his home on Friday, May 12, 2006. Rafael was born on December 6, 1925 in Guanajuato, Mexico a son of Rafael Galvan Lopez and Isabel Solorio Lopez. He was raised and attended school in Mexico. He lived in the United States since 1988. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Rafael was a service station manager in Mexico, when he moved to Rigby he worked at Ball Brothers Produce for several years retiring eight years ago. He married Josefina Garnica in 1942. She preceded him in death in 1995. Rafael enjoyed fishing, gambling and raising Roosters. Survivors include seven daughters Juanita (Ismael) Estrada of Vail, Colorado, Consuelo (Antonio) Galvan of Harford, Michigan, Esther (Jorge) Galvan de Solcedo of Mexico City, Mexico, Rosa Galvan of Mexico City, Mexico, Sara (Tony) Galvan Morales, Mireya (Juan Carlos) Tinoco, and Lupe (Juan) Morales all of Idaho Falls; five sons Luis (Esther) Galvan of Mexico City, Mexico, Ramon (Juanita) Galvan of Rigby, Arnulfo (Virginia) Galvan of Mexico City, Mexico, Enrique (Trinidad) Galvan of Menan, and Rafael (Lucina) Galvan of Rigby, one sister Maria de Jesus Galvan of Mexico City, Mexico; 48 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren. Rafael was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josefina, and two brothers. A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. The family will have a visitation and rosary at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 19, 2006 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Cache – Clawson Cemetery.
