Ralph Dean Munns, 84, of Menan, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008, at his home.
He was born December 22, 1923 in Lyman, Idaho, to Alvin Weeks Munns and Clara Brindley Munns. He attended school in Lymn and Rexburg. On February 4, 1947, he married Merle Beazer Munns in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple.
He owned Ralph Munns Construction, working in concrete, sand and gravel.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ralph enjoyed being a River Rider for Flood Control, loved horses, fishing, and playing softball. He was always ready with a joke and said his family was his greatest love.
He is survived by his wife, Merle Beazer Munns, of Menan, three daughters; Cynthia Diane (Kurt) Hillman, of Chester, Wendy Denise (Mark) Tall, of Idaho Falls, Marnae Munns, of Idaho Falls, three sons; Rickie Lamoyne Munns, of Clifton, Idaho, Terrell “Bruce” (Kathy) Munns, of Menan, Kevin Dean (Jeanette) Munns, of Riverside, CA, a sister; Alta Benson, of Salt Lake City, UT, two brothers; Glen (Elaine) Munns, David (LuAnn) Munns, both of Lyman, twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Howard Munns, and Ray Munns, two grandchildren: Melanie Hillman and Mathew Munns, and one great granddaughter; Sasha Rose Boening.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Menan 2nd Ward Chapel, with Bishop Eric Beck, conducting. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
