Randall Kerry Dodd

Randall Kerry Dodd, age 78, passed away April 10, 2023, at home in Rigby, Idaho.  Randy was born October 26, 1944, in Rigby, to Denver Haskell Dodd and Frieda Lavern Staggs.  He grew up in Rigby where he attended school and graduated from Rigby High School in 1963.  He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Idaho State University and a Master of Science in Education from Southern Oregon State College.  He loved math and loved teaching math.

Randy married Joyce Kinghorn on June 10, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He taught math in Oregon as well as in Bonneville School District #93 and Jefferson County School District #251.  He coached football, basketball and track for 36 years.   Upon retirement, Randy and Joyce took a working vacation for 2 years in West Virginia to pursue family history work.

Randy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served in various leadership roles, including temple worker in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temple while the Idaho Falls Temple was renovated.  He enjoyed life, most of all he loved his grandkids and attending their various activities.

Randy is survived by his wife, Joyce Dodd, His son, Erik (Jennifer) Dodd of Rigby, and daughter, Dina (Brad) Lott of Idaho Falls, and Jana (Scott) Mugleston of Ririe.  He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sara Lorene Dodd.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby Idaho L.D.S. Stake Center, 258 W. 1 ^st N. on Friday, April 14.  The family will meet with friends Thursday night, April 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and again Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Rigby Idaho Stake Center.  Bishop Todd Stowell officiating.  Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
