Randall Ray Peterson, 74, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on May 28, 2026.

Randall was born on April 9, 1952, in Rigby, Idaho, to Dwain Peterson and Neva Peterson (Byington). He was raised in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He later attended some college studying art and spent his life rooted in the community he loved.

He married Danette Pelton on May 21, 1994, in Rigby, Idaho and were later sealed on June 6, 2009, in the Idaho Falls Temple and together they built a life. Randall worked for many years at Idahoan Foods in Lewisville, which is where he met his wife Danette and later retired from there.

A lifelong resident of Rigby, Randall was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Blue Sage Writer’s Group. He enjoyed singing, he played guitar and during high school sang and played in a band. He loved drawing and used his talent to decorate his home, especially painting themes in his children’s rooms. He had a creative side and made cartoon videos and incorporated his family into the creations and placed them on YouTube. He enjoyed writing stories and had some of his books published. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, working in his yard, and especially spending time with his family.

Randall is survived by his wife, Danette Peterson; his children: Téa Allen (Rhett) of Rigby, Idaho; Jeremiah Peterson (Natalie) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Nick Peterson (Holly) of Rigby, Idaho; Dax Peterson (Megan) of Waterford, Michigan and Hans Garrett Peterson of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is also survived by his brothers: Brent Peterson; Kelly Peterson (Elaine) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Rob Peterson (Kim) of Enumclaw, Washington. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

He will be remembered for his kindness, and the love he had for his family. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather always talking up the things his kids were doing.
