Randy J Gauer of Menan passed away at his home, March 25, 2008, due to complications of diabetes.
Randy was born November 22, 1943 in Montpelier, Idaho to Otto J. and Bernice Passey Gauer. With his parents he moved to Menan in 1946 where he attended school in Menan, Midway Jr. High and Rigby High School.
Randy was married twice and divorced.
He enjoyed basketball, baseball, music and cars, especially his Corvette's.
After high school he followed his father into the lumber business by going to work at Boise Cascade in Idaho Falls where he worked for 18 years. After his parents retired in 1981 he took over the family business in Menan, Twin Butte Lumber and Hardware, where he continued to operate the business until November 2007. He had a special fondness for the small town of Menan and growing up there. He hated to see it slowly die off from the town that he knew as a child.
