Randy Kay Ricks

Randy Kay Ricks, age 70, of Terreton, Idaho passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on October 19, 1953, the son of Thomas Arnold Ricks and Shirley Amelia Smith Ricks. He was the 3rd of 6 children.

Randy graduated from Ririe High School in Ririe, Idaho. As a youth he participated in Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served his country in the United States Army before returning to school where he attended Idaho State University. While at ISU he played on the ISU baseball team. He loved all kinds of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, golf and volleyball. He enjoyed the out of doors, going fishing, hunting and skiing. He also liked attending high school sporting events. He even played on several city league teams.

He is survived by his siblings; Dean (Kathy) Ricks of Twin Falls, Idaho, Marie (Evert) Mouser of Blackfoot, Idaho, Steven (Sharon) Ricks, of Basalt, Idaho and Tammy (Kevin) Olsen of Rigby, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A sister, Shirley Jean Hamblin. A nephew, Michael Olsen and niece Bonnie Mouser.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Ririe 1st Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (285 2nd W, Ririe, ID 83443).  The family will meet with friends Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID 83442) and again on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at the church. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
