Raymond Manuel Rodriguez was born on May 9, 1973, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jesse and Clara Rodriguez. He passed away on May 20, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC).
Raymond attended school in Idaho Falls. While still in high school, he welcomed his first daughter Brittney. He later had his second daughter, Julia. In 2002, Raymond married Tiffany Lockyer, and together they had three children: Andrew, Deja, and Isaha. They later divorced.
Raymond loved family gatherings and barbecues in the summertime. He will be remembered with a drink in his hand and a smile on his face. His uncles and cousins have fond memories of playing ball “in the good old days “ out in Menan. He enjoyed playing pranks on his nieces and nephews and always enjoyed them visiting and doing puzzles together. Raymond had been a caregiver for his father for the last 11 years. They were each other’s best friends and always working on various projects together.
Raymond is survived by his father, Jesse Rodriguez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his stepmother, Jessie Smithies-Rodriguez of Boise, Idaho; his sister, Peggy Rodriguez; his brothers, Lorenzo (Kristie) Rodriguez , Daniel Smithies, and his sister, Brandi Smithies-Rodriguez. He is also survived by all of his children — Brittney, Julia, Andrew, Deja, and Isaha — as well as six grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Rodriguez; his younger brother, Cody Smithies-Rodriguez; and his baby sister Amanda, niece Mercedes, niece Sofia, cousin Bucky, aunt Teresa, Lola, and Mary, uncle Jimmy, grandma and grandpa Rodriguez.
Raymond was under the care of Aspen Hospice at the time of his passing. His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the EIRMC ICU nurses for their dedicated care of Raymond and for the compassion and sensitivity they showed his family during this difficult time
Graveside services will be Saturday May 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Lewisville Cemetery, 3356 E 400 N, Lewisville, Idaho, with a viewing prior to the graveside from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho.
