Rebecca Mary Totten Olsen of Rigby, Idaho, died in her home on November 5, 2023.

She was born on March 17, 1945 to Leonard and Ethel Totten in Altoona, Pennsylvania where she grew up. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 17. She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, graduating with a Master’s in Music Education. While attending school, she married J. Brent Olsen on June 2, 1069. Together they had five children and lived in several towns in Idaho, eventually settling in Rigby. She taught music at Ricks College and BYU-Idaho for over 30 years. She loved cats, performing, and sharing her love of music and the Gospel.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, J. Brent and one daughter: Rachel Olsen. She is survive by her sisters: Nancy Temple, Barbara Deming, and Roberta Fogle; by her son Nathon (Cathy) Olsen and David (Jolyn) Olsen; daughters Mary (James Underwood) Olsen and Diane Olsen; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rebecca will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Lorenzo LDS Ward Building (258 W 1st N Rigby ID 83442). Interment will follow the service at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
