Reginald Albert Maynard, 97 of Rigby, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 24, 1916 in Burk’s Falls, Ontario, Canada to Albert George Edwin Maynard and Ellen McQuillan Maynard. He was raised and attended schools in Burke’s Falls and Toronto. He continued his education at Shaw Business College also located in Toronto. He worked as a painter throughout San Diego County, California. On June 19, 1941 he married Irene Allen in the Hope United Church in Toronto, Canada; they were blessed with 2 daughters and 1 son. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple July 2, 1983.
Reginald sang in Toronto Men’s Choir and was a beautiful dancer. He enjoyed billiard competitions, and participating in Minstrel Shows. He was a member of Fox Chase Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and was a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Maynard, daughters, Diane Irene Hill and Patrice Allen (Nick) Angiuli, all of Rigby, son, Mark Albert Maynard of Los Angeles, California, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, William Godfrey Maynard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the South Rigby LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
