Reneé Pocock Graham, 79, of Rigby, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Idaho Falls.
Reneé was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Ray Luke Pocock and Maurine Richmond Pocock. She was the first of 8 children. She was raised in Moody, Idaho.
She attended Moody Elementary School, Sugar City High School, Ricks College and Idaho State University. She was a well known teacher and taught in the Jefferson County School District and taught for 29 years before retiring.
Reneé was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served an LDS mission with her husband at the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center. She had many ward and stake church callings including Relief Society Presidencies, chorister, primary, and temple ordnance worker.
Reneé married Gilbert Clay Graham on July 18, 1952, in the Idaho Falls Temple. During their 58-year marriage they made their home in Rigby while raising 7 children.
Reneé had a great love of music and singing was part of her life. She participated in ward choirs, played the piano and organ. She was a member of the Chansonettes.
Reneé is survived by her husband, Clay Graham; her children, Wendy (Michel) Hawkes of Bountiful, Ut, David (Suzie) of Chandler, Az., Keith (Stephanie) of Idaho Falls, Lynn (Robin) of Glendale, Az., Jeffrey of Rigby, Paul (Tammy) of Rigby, and Nancy G. Dye (Jon) of Rigby; sisters, Ruth (Rigby, deceased) Willmore, Elaine (Alf) Hunter; and brothers, John (Colleen) and Richard (Janie); 27 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Reneé is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Keith and Ralph; and one sister, Norma Ashton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at the Rigby 16th LDS Chapel, 4021 East 300 North with Bishop Shawn Hall officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m Tuesday Oct 5 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main, Rigby, and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
