Walter Rex Chapple, 69, of Milo, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009.
He was born November 6, 1939, in Milo, to Walter Russell Chapple and Nellie May Cleverly Chapple.
He was raised in Milo and attended schools in Ucon.
On August 28, 1959, he married Nina May Leonard in Rigby; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 13, 1984.
He farmed in the Milo area, and worked in construction.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. Rex loved to serve in his church callings, was a hard worker and enjoyed farming, training horses, participating in rodeos, and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. He also enjoyed wintering in Pahrump, NV and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Chapple, of Milo, a daughter, MarcAnna Gohr , of Menan, sons, Brian Chapple, of Idaho Falls, Mike (Rhonda) Chapple, of Shelley, Brett (Jenifer Andersen) Chapple, of Rigby, Jeffery Chapple, of Idaho Falls, a sister, Donna (Verle) Landon, of Idaho Falls, brothers, Bob (Karen) Chapple, of Idaho Falls, Larry (Alonna) Chapple, of Idaho Falls, Ronnie Chapple, of Spokane, WA, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Russell and Nellie Chapple, a sister, Beth Smout, and a brother, Jay Chapple.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Milo LDS Chapel, 1127 N. 75th East, Idaho Falls, ID, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main St., Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
