Rex Rolfe, A man of few words but much influence, Sgt. Rex Rolfe, 85, of Rigby, Idaho died December 29, 2006. Born and raised in Rigby, Rex made his home here and was a pillar in the community and his Church. He stood as a family patriarch and was a tremendous example to everyone he came in contact with. Rex was always a hard worker, he started on the family farm and to the end continued working as a business owner of Modern Plumbing and Heating for over 50 years. Rex was married to his eternal sweetheart, Zoe for over 60 years. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. After they married, it was rare to see Rex and Zoe apart. Even in their later years it was not uncommon to find Rex out with this sweetheart on a late night date. He attended Ricks College for a year before enlisting in the Army Air Forces at the beginning of World War II. He served his country from 1941 to 1945. He received an honorable discharge as Sergeant, and was awarded aerial gunnery wings. He spent many years serving as an active member of the LDS Church in Young Men’s, as a Bishop, a counselor in the Stake Presidency, and in many other positions. He loved to garden and to cook, but the greatest love of his life was his wife and family, by whom, along with many others, he will be sorely missed.
Rex is survived by his wife, Zoe Rolfe, Sons, Randy (Gaylynn) Rolfe, and Kent (Marie) Rolfe all of Rigby, Daughter-in-law, Dianne Madsen of Rexburg, Sisters, Rosemary (Gilbert) Yost of Idaho Falls, Brothers, Don Rolfe of Lake Havasu City Arizona, Dee (Irene) Rolfe of St. George Utah, Ron Rolfe of Idaho Falls, 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
