March 14, 1947 — August 7, 2014

Reyes Orozco-Montes “EL Guero Reyes” 67, of Rigby, Idaho passed away of an accidental death doing what he loved in the mountains of Montana on August 7th, 2014. He was born in Temosachic, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guadalupe and Meliton Orozco where he was raised alongside his 4 sisters and 1 brother as a faithful Catholic. As a young teenager being “the go getter” he always was he moved to the small town of Rigby, Idaho where he called home for the rest of his years. Reyes was well known in every place that he went for being such a great friend, a friend that would give you his last dollar if you needed it. Reyes enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and fishing. There were few that could beat him at a game of pool. He loved having his house full of family and friends, reminiscing about old times, and life’s adventures. His all time passion was cutting firewood and delivering it to his many faithful customers who knew if they hadn’t heard from him come summer time they knew they would have their load of firewood before winter. Reyes had previous marriages with Dora Romero, Natalia Vasquez, LouAnn Quinton, and Olivia Marquez, with whom he had five wonderful children. His last and final marriage was to Laura E. Avila in November of 1992 in Rigby, Idaho. They had three wonderful children. Reyes enjoyed working jobs which include Hunter Farms, Walker Farms, Rigby Produce, Frank Lott Trucking and Craig Hart Trucking. He loved driving big rigs and knew them from bumper to bumper. He was always looking for ways to make an extra dollar. He raised cattle, goats, and pigs. Lately one of his favorite pastimes was visiting the Fort Hall casino. Reyes was a great father and husband showing us all how to succeed in life and be independent. Reyes and his brother were very close, knowing they had each other’s back through thick and thin. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Laura E. Orozco, Sons Sergio Romero, Adrian R. Orozco, Reyes E. Orozco Jr., and Nicolas Orozco. Daughters Rebecca (Lorenzo) Cortez, Guadalupe T. Flores, Adriana L. Talamantes, Nora (Salvador) Alvarez. Sisters Ofelia Orozco, Alicia (Ramon) Rascon, Lourdes Chacon, Rosa ( Ramon) Varela, brother Jesus ( Jean) Orozco, and 14 grandchildren, various nieces and nephews who respected and adored him as a father figure. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and various family members. There will be a Rosary service at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho at 7:00 pm on Monday August 11th 2014. Funeral mass will be Tuesday August 12th 2014 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Burial will be at the Annis Butte Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to assist with the funeral cost at Eckersell Funeral Home.
