Rhea Jeneanne Mecham Buttars

Rhea Jeneanne Mecham Buttars, 55, passed away August 30, 2005 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho of medical complications. She was born on January 31, 1950, in Blackfoot, Idaho the daughter of Evan Lyon Mecham and Evelyn Iris Schiess Mecham. She attended school in Blackfoot and Rexburg, Idaho and Provo, Utah. She married Chad Buttars on August 10, 1973 in the Manti Utah L.D.S. Temple. They made their home in the area of Monteview and Terreton, Idaho. She taught school for 26 years touching many young lives. She loved flowers, her family, especially her grandchildren, teaching and making others happy. She enjoyed reading, scrap booking, snowmobiling, and her cabin. She loved life. She is survived by her husband Chad Buttars; 5 children: Kelly David (KaraDawn) Buttars, Emily (Tom) Barnes, Andrew John Buttars, Charlie Chad Buttars, and Heidi Buttars; 6 grandchildren: Katie Jo Buttars, Karly May Buttars, Shaustia Janean Barnes, Thomas Austin Barnes IV, Keaton Chad Buttars, and Andrew John Buttars Jr.; 11 siblings: Leon (Charlotte) Mecham, Deola (Brent) Matsuura, Lola Summers, Norman (Virginia) Mecham, Nelda (Bruce) Cowley, Iris Phillips, Erma Wolfley, Dennis (Peggy) Mecham, Von (Kaylen) Mecham, Reed (Marcia) Mecham, and Victoria Mecham. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 3, 2005 at the Monteview L.D.S. Chapel. The family will meet with friends on Friday, September 2, 2005 at the original Terreton chapel (next to the school) from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and prior to the services at the Monteview L.D.S. Chapel for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
