Richard Jarvis left home today, Monday, February 6, 2006. Rich was born in Park Falls, Wisconsin on July 7, 1957 the son of James Houck and Helen Cain. He was raised in Butternut and Omega, Wisconsin. He moved to Idaho in 1979 and went to work in the Logging and Fertilizer business. For the past 20 years he worked for Max Parkinson and Wilcox Logging. Richard loved the long hours and alone time in the woods, with his machinery, rather than commotion of the crowds. Richard didn’t need people to make him happy. He was happy when the job was done, and done right. Time was never the issue. In 1984 Rich won the all round logger award in St. Anthony. Carl Roades wrote a book the had Rich in it. It told of his ability to back up long hauls, even as a 12 year old boy. It is no wonder he loved big rigs and logs. Richard learned his work ethics from Carl Roades, the man that raised him. It served Richard well through out his life. Carl and Elizabeth gave Rich a great foundation on which to grow and become the man we all loved. Richard loved to spend time with his family and friends at his home. Richard and Kathy with sons Gene and Nick, moved to Rigby two years ago, where they started a new life, in a great new town.
