Richard Leland Larsen

Richard Leland Larsen, 78, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Madison County, Idaho.
He was born June 27, 1943 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the oldest of the six children born to Ross Call Larsen and Ruby Lee Phillips Larsen. Richard fulfilled his role as older brother throughout his life as he watched over his younger siblings. He grew up in Ririe, Idaho where he attended schools and graduated from Ririe High School with the Class of 1961. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.
Richard was married to Lola Mae Jeppson on August 30, 1962 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The newlyweds made their home in Idaho Falls where Richard was employed as a cabinet-maker for Turnbull Millworks before he and Lola started Larsen Manufacturing, their own custom cabinet business. They branched out in their skills and took on the challenge of building their own new home and cabinet shop.  Richard worked for a time as the manager of Signature Millworks in Idaho Falls before he and Lola moved their family to the Rigby-Ririe area and established Heirloom Reflections, a custom furniture business.
Richard was a skilled craftsman and he and Lola always worked side by side. Their five children learned from them and worked with their parents through the years. Many other family members were also employed by them and taught woodworking and construction skills. Lola passed away on 10 December 2005.  Richard never retired and continued on working in construction alongside his family members.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When his children were younger, he helped coach Little League Baseball in Ririe and also worked in the Scouting program. Richard enjoyed woodworking and tinkering on cars. He also liked to go camping and fishing when time would allow.
He is survived by his children; Brenda Jean Larsen, Brendan 'J' Larsen and Brett 'J' Larsen all of Rigby, ID and Brendell 'J' Larsen of Ririe, ID. Sisters; Patricia Fairchild of Patterson, CA, Joyce (John) Chandronait of Idaho Falls, ID and Lorraine (Craig) Simmons of Rigby, ID. Brothers; Ron (Connie) M. Larsen of Rigby, ID and Royce (Jeanne) S. Larsen of Fruitland, ID. 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola, his son Brent 'J' Larsen and his parents, Ross and Ruby Larsen and daughter-in-law Kelli Larsen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Clark Ward LDS Chapel located at 198 N. 4300 E. Rigby, ID. The family will meet with friends prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery in Archer, ID.
